Olubadan withdraws Appointments of Two Chiefs Over Family Disapproval

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, alongside the Olubadan Advisory Council, has withdrawn the appointments of two Mogajis due to reported lack of family support.

Those affected are Chief Musilu Yekini Olaoye of Peluseriki Compound, Isale Osi, and Chief Rasaki Funso Ayinde Oguntobi of Oloola Ogungbesan Compound, Bode—both within Ibadan.

The decision, effective immediately, was reached during a council meeting held on April 7, 2025.

According to the council, both men failed to gain the endorsement of their respective family members—a critical requirement for holding the Mogaji title.

“The two individuals should henceforth cease to present themselves as Mogajis in Ibadanland,” the Olubadan warned.
