Tribune Online learnt that the revered monarch, who ascended the throne in July 2024, passed away in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, marking the end of a brief but memorable reign that lasted just one year.
Born on July 5, Oba Olakulehin’s transition comes only two days after his 89th birthday. His passage is a significant moment in the history of Ibadan, one of the largest and most influential traditional kingdoms in Yorubaland.
